SUMMARY:Stow Moving Forward on Climate
DESCRIPTION:Learn about Stow’s progress towards becoming a more sustainable and climate friendly\ncommunity. Many homes have installed solar panels and/or heat pumps. Over 350 residents\ndrive all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles\, and the Stow Police and Building Department have\nacquired all-electric vehicles. Stow has received over $900\,000 in Green Communities Grants\nand was awarded a $1.1 million grant to help with land restoration at Stow Acres. Our speakers\ninclude Denise Dembkoski\, Stow Town Administrator; Arnie Epstein\, Stow Green Advisory\nCommittee Chair; and members of Sustainable Stow.

SUMMARY:Sustainable Stow / Randall Library Climate Talks
DESCRIPTION:Many golf courses are going up for sale because of an over supply.  Some are being restored to their natural environment offering benefits for wildlife and people.  Here in Stow\, we have an opportunity to restore the land on 115 acres of the North Course at the Stow Acres Country Club.  \nOn Wednesday\, May 15 we will have an opportunity to find out what that means. Kathy Serra\, Stow’s Conservation Director\, will discuss the process and challenges of restoring a former golf course to a natural habitat and what steps the Town is taking to begin transformation of this landscape into one that is more diverse and climate resilient.
